‘’Those experiences taught me the importance of “new beginnings,” and I look forward to helping ZFL Clients find their own moments of renewal during challenging times.’’
Meet Madison Howard.
As someone who has always been inspired by the concept of “new beginnings,” I knew that Z Family Law was the right place for me the moment I learned about the firm’s mission. For Clients going through separation, divorce, or custodial disputes, these experiences can be incredibly challenging. I believe in helping people find hope and opportunity in the midst of hardship, guiding them to see this time as a chance to start fresh. ZFL’s vision resonates deeply with my approach to family law, and I’m grateful to work alongside a team that’s equally committed to supporting our Clients’ new journeys.
My path to family law started in an unexpected way. I began my legal career as a Law Clerk at a small landlord-tenant firm in D.C. When my supervising attorney took on a custody matter for a previous client’s family, I knew that I wanted to continue practicing in this area. From that case forward, I was captivated by the blend of complex legal challenges and personal dynamics that family law involves. Guiding that Client through an intensely emotional experience left a lasting impression on me and showed me just how rewarding this area of practice can be. Since then, family law has felt like home, and I’ve dedicated my practice to helping people navigate some of life’s most personal transitions.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Sociology, with a concentration in Legal Studies, at Roanoke College in 2018. After, I attended American University Washington College of Law, where I received my Juris Doctorate in 2021. My memberships with the District of Columbia Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, and American Bar Association help me stay connected to the family law community and to continue learning from others in this field.
Growing up, my family moved often due to my father’s job, and every few years, I would start at a new school. The excitement of a fresh start often came with feelings of apprehension, but over time, I learned to see each move as an opportunity to reinvent myself. Those experiences taught me the importance of “new beginnings,” and I look forward to helping ZFL Clients find their own moments of renewal during challenging times. When I’m not working, I love cooking and exploring local restaurants.
