"I get to advocate for the best interests of children and support families in need, which is incredibly fulfilling."

Meet Heather Sowa.

Family law is deeply personal to me, especially as a single parent who understands the challenges families face during difficult transitions. As a paralegal at  Z Family Law, I get to advocate for the best interests of children and support families in need, which is incredibly fulfilling.

My career has always been centered around serving others. Before joining Z Family Law, I’ve had the privilege of working as a front office administrator and transportation coordinator at a school, a lead client care coordinator for a homecare agency, and a document preparation clerk contractor for the United States Secret Service. I also volunteer as a Paralegal Intern at the Legal Self-Help Clinic at Anne Arundel Community College. Persistence, adaptability, and empathy are qualities that define my approach to my work, and I strive to foster a supportive and understanding environment for everyone I interact with.

I bring together my educational background and personal experiences to effectively and compassionately support every one of the clients I work with. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice with a minor in Women’s Studies from Trinity Washington University and a Paralegal Certification from Anne Arundel Community College.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my son, experimenting in the kitchen, listening to music, and off-roading.
