Your journey starts here

Your family law matter is important to you, so its already important to us.

Many people come to us having never needed a lawyer before, and we understand that navigating the legal system can feel overwhelming. Even if you’ve worked with attorneys in the past, you’ve likely noticed that every firm operates differently. At Z Family Law, we believe in a transparent, client-centered approach that puts your needs first. We want to walk you through how our process works and what sets us apart, so you can feel confident and supported from the moment you reach out.

  • What Should I Expect When I Reach Out to Z Family Law?

When you contact Z Family Law, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a member of our team who will gather some basic information about your matter. We’ll take the time to understand your needs and assess if our firm is the right fit for your case. If we believe we can assist you, we’ll schedule a free case evaluation with one of our Client Engagement Specialists. If we are not able to take your case, we’ll help connect you with another firm that can help.

  • Is There a Charge for My Case Evaluation?

No, your case evaluation is free. This allows you to explore whether Z Family Law is the right fit for you without any upfront cost. During your appointment, our Client Engagement Specialist will gather key details about your case and understand your goals. We will also discuss potential options for how we can assist you. Please note that this evaluation is not legal advice but rather an opportunity to assess how we might support you moving forward. What happens next depends on a variety of factors, but rest assured that while we cannot guarantee you a final price in all cases, we will always be upfront and transparent about costs because we know this is an investment in your family’s future, and you deserve to have the best information possible to make the best decision you can.

  • Is My Information Kept Confidential?

Yes! Your confidentiality is of the highest priority to us. Everything you share with us, from your initial inquiry to the things discussed during your Case Evaluation will remain completely private. We understand the importance of keeping your information secure, even at this initial stage. Rest assured, no one outside of our firm will be aware of your inquiry, and we won’t reach out to any other parties unless and until you decide to move forward with our services and give us permission to do so. This commitment to confidentiality ensures that you can speak openly and honestly, knowing that your information is protected and won’t be used against you later.

  • When Should I Reach Out?

The best time to reach out is whenever you feel ready to explore your legal options and create your new beginning. Whether you're just beginning to consider legal action or are already deep into a family law matter, we’re here to provide clarity and guide you forward. If we’re not immediately available, we may ask you to leave us a voicemail or send us an email, and we will get back to you as soon as possible, usually within one business day. Your concerns are important to us, and we’re committed to ensuring you receive the support you need in a timely manner.

  • What If I’m Not Ready to Share My Personal Information Yet?

We understand the need for privacy, especially when discussing sensitive family matters. You are welcome to share as much or as little information as you feel comfortable with during your Case Evaluation. However, please note that there are certain details we need to know to fulfill our professional obligations, prevent conflicts of interest, and make sure we can assist you. Beyond those necessary details, you are welcome to share as much or as little as you prefer. Rest assured, anything you do share will be kept strictly confidential. That being said, the more open and transparent you can be, the better we are able to assist you.

  • When Will I Have the Opportunity to Speak with a Lawyer?

Here’s your first lawyer answer - it depends! In most cases, you’ll meet your legal team once you’ve hired us, but rest assured, that’s not your first chance to get to know our attorneys. Once we have had a chance to learn about your goals, we will match you with a lawyer who has the unique experience, knowledge, and skills to best serve you and your family. This process saves you time and money while ensuring our lawyers get to focus all their energy on helping clients like you.

However, in certain situations, after your Case Evaluation, our Client Engagement Specialist may recommend meeting with an attorney before retaining us for a more detailed perspective, especially if your case requires a lawyer's eye. This tends to happen with complex cases or families with unique circumstances.

  • What Happens Once I Become a Client?

When you choose to work with us, you’ll be assigned a dedicated legal team and provided with the necessary materials to get started. We’ll create a tailored legal strategy in collaboration with you, designed to meet your legal goals for your family, whatever they may be. From there, we’ll guide you through each step of the legal process, keeping you informed and ensuring that your goals remain at the forefront of every decision because we believe that no one knows what’s better for your family than you.

  • How Long Will My Case Take?

The timeline of your case depends on a variety of factors, including the specifics of your legal matter, the complexity of the issues involved, and the court’s schedule. The answer every lawyer gives: it depends! Each case is unique, and certain elements—such as whether your case is resolved through negotiation, mediation, or goes to trial—will impact the length of time it takes. While we can’t control the court’s schedule or unforeseen developments, we’ll work diligently to keep the process moving as efficiently as possible, ensuring that your goals remain a priority every step of the way.
