Meet Andrea McGauley: In the history of my family, the stigma of divorce caused a great deal of pain. Despite improving the lives of my loved ones, I was told from a young age to treat divorce as shameful. Nonetheless, being raised by an incredible single mother taught me through experience that an “unconventional family” can be the biggest blessing. My home was full of love, and this was all that mattered to me as a child. Looking back, I wish my family had treated the divorce for what it was: a chance for all involved to lead the life that brought them the most joy.
This is the perspective offered by Z Family Law. As their receptionist, I am excited to be the first person to speak with clients as they are welcomed into our firm. Through our interactions, I hope to exemplify the beautiful message that a family law matter can be the starting point toward a new life. It is also my wish to put clients at ease, as I can personally testify that a change of family dynamics may often be the healthiest, best situation for both parents and children.
I’m proud to be a part of Z Family Law because it is a firm that lends encouragement and guidance to those undergoing a life-changing transition. It has always been my passion to help others through personal connection. For this reason, I served in Peace Corps Tanzania from 2019-2020. Living in another country, learning a new language, and immersing myself in a completely different culture have taught me just how much I value communication and empathy. No matter the person or situation, I am committed to providing every client with exceptional service and a feeling of satisfaction when working with us.
Born and raised in Minnesota (and you may hear the elongated “Os” of the accent occasionally), I also have a deep-seated midwestern hospitality. Since I recently moved to D.C., I look forward to exploring the area as I become accustomed to public transportation and far less snow! Eventually, I will be pursuing law school on the East Coast and utilizing all the knowledge I will have gained from this firm. In the meantime, I am happy to learn from these professionals who have dedicated themselves so greatly to their field and Z Family Law. As the receptionist, I am here to help both the firm and its clients have the best experience possible.
