Meet Monica Lapinski
Growing up, my parents’ unrelenting admiration, support and respect for each other deeply resonated with me. I cherish the memories of warmth emanating from the love that filled every corner of our family home. Even as a young child, I considered their marriage to be the kind of relationship I envisioned for my future self, and I was steadfast on settling for absolutely nothing less. However, years later, when my own marriage began to dissolve, I found myself having to come to terms with the fact that my vision of marriage was distorted, as not all marriages are “perfect,” nor do they last forever like my parents’.
From the moment that I walked into Christy’s office as a potential client, I knew that I had found the best attorney for my case. The passion she exuded was profoundly evident, and she possessed an exceptional gift of knowing exactly what steps needed to be taken in order to achieve success. While talking with her, I often felt as though she were reading my mind! Christy and her team went above and beyond in being there to help me through every step of the divorce process. Their proactive line of communication and attention to my case made me feel as though I was the firm’s only client, which was far from reality.
Through the firm’s continuous support and guidance, I was able to leave my marriage and start a new chapter in my life as a successful single mom. I could not have asked for a better experience in the way my divorce was handled.
As the Client Relationship Manager for the firm, I know that my experiences as a client help form the foundation for providing clients the kind of support I found essential in the path of my own divorce. I know that all stages of divorce come with their different hardships. Not knowing where to begin, what steps to take – or even knowing what to feel – can make a divorce seem incredibly daunting. The stress of divorce permeates through every fiber of one’s life, including the lives of children and other family members. As Client Relationship Manager, I strive to alleviate those stresses as much as possible, just as Christy and her team had done for me. In addition to being a former client, my career background has revolved around providing exceptional customer service. My undergraduate studies were in Environmental Management, but, despite my love for Mother Earth, I fell into a career in marketing and sales. Assisting people with finding the right products for their unique needs was fulfilling and I enjoyed it for many years. After getting married, I decided to devote my energy to raising my two young children.
The experience of being a stay-at-home-parent filled me with invaluable lessons on resilience, compassion, problem-solving, and patience that I would not have been able to obtain in any other environment. Eventually, I returned to a career in customer service by starting my own small business selling thrifted goods on various online platforms. My key goal was to stand out among my competitors by focusing solely on the customers, by trying to find exactly what they were looking for, even if that something wasn’t necessarily something at my shop. Sending out a package that would brighten someone else’s day gave me immeasurable joy.
As Client Relationship Manager for Z Family Law, my happiness now comes from being a part of a team that provides support to people undergoing what can be considered one of the most turbulent times of their lives. Nowadays, when I am not at work, you can usually find me curled up on the couch with a good book, spending time with my kids and our rambunctious Jack Russell terrier (or as I like to say, “terrorist”) Patrick, on the phone with my friends, writing a short story, out in nature with my camera in hand, in the vegetable garden, or out on a long hike in the woods.
